Biometrics code 2 after approval

Hi Everybody,

My 485 got approved on 16th July and I haven't received my card yet. Yesterday i.e on Sep 4th, I received a notice for code 2 Finger Printing to be done on 26th Sep. Did someone else receive a similar notice?

It was a common practice to get biometrics appointment after approval, couple of years back. The GC would only be printed after they took your recent picture and finger prints during that appointment.

In recent years, in order to speed up processing USCIS has been sending Code 3 and Code 1 notices prior to adjudication. And if biometrics has been completed prior to approval, you get the card ordered mail directly. If not, they send you the approval notice followed by the biometrics appointment. In any case your card should be ordered once the biometrics is complete.
 
Thanks for your reply. I was surprised because I did my Fp code 3 in May. Then I searched more on the forum and realized lot of people didn't get their card as their FP were not recorded/posted or uploaded whtever... Now, some of them have received biometrics notice again.
