Biometrics appt...wait or walk in?

I have seen people indicate they walked in to get their biometrics taken rather than waiting for their appointment. My appointment is Nov. 14, and I am in a crunch to get my EAD before my TN expires. Everything indicates you need an appointment, but should I go and try anyway?

i did a walk-in last weekend and had no problems.
