Biometric walk-in

I am a U.S. citizen and I am applying marriage-based greencard for my wife who is currently in U.S.

We just received an appointment for biometrics which is still a month away. We would like to speeden the process as we are looking to do some international travel in late Spring.

I see on these forum that a lot of people are able to get their biometrics done (walk-in) before their appointments. We want to know what is the process/requirement to get it done through a walk-in. We are located in Chicago area.

Thanks.

Going on a Wednesday afternoon or late morning would be a good bet. Most centers allow walk-ins on Wednesdays.

iM SCHEDULE FOR MY FP on 03/21/11 which is one month away.
Can I go next week? what difference will that make for my case?
Thanks guys for your advises

Unless your wife has a dual-intent status like H1B or L1, she will have to wait 2-3 months for Advance Parole before leaving the US, otherwise her I-485 will be canceled. The early walk-in biometrics won't speed up the Advance Parole approval.

If before applying for the green card she overstayed for 180 days or more, she should not leave the US without a green card, because if she leaves before that she would be banned from the US for 3 years or 10 years.

you can give it a try tomorrow if you want, depending on how many people they have that day. and if you are unlucky , try a couple of days later cause most of the time the security gards dont read your appointment date. and as far as to your case, the faster you do your biometrics , the faster your case will move forward

My scheduled date is the same as yours - 03/21. I am planning to do a walk-in on the Wednesday of the preceding week (3/16) or, perhaps, on Wednesday, 3/9. Haven't decided yet.

What is your district office? That is, what city is your Application Support Center in?

I followed my mom to do a earlier walk in today. Receptionist/guard asked "why are you here today"? Your appointment is not until 3/17/11. My mother told him she just wanted to get it over with. They let her in. I went there about 6 months ago for a early walk in also. Only 2 people were in front of us. Ticket number 3.

Nothing try nothing done!

Thanks Guys I will try it tomorrow. My ASC is in sugar land Texas
I will keep you update tomorrow then
