Hi,

Quick question!
I recieved my Biometric code 2. I was wondering if you are allowed to visit a different service center at another city (not the one listed), as I am currently at this 'new' city for 2 months.

Jigsawpuzzle,

That happened to us for the first fingure printing... My wife was in OH and I was in MI ... and we had different dates and different Centers... One fine Saturday we went to Pitturburg ASC ... and it went thru without any problems for both of us.. So I guess it is OK ... When I went to Biometrics for EAD .. they did not check anything .. just scaned the barcode and we were all set...

The only thing is -- if the ASC is busy and have more guys waiting they might turn u away .. but I guess this rarely happens.

Hope that helps
Billtoo.

Thanks

Be very careful ... I also had a similar situation, my wife and I had FP appointment in 2 centres (within MI) which are aout 150 miles apart. I asked my lawyer she advised me to go to the centre where the appointment is scheduled. I in turn called USCIS the lady told me that we cannot go to the same centre as appointments are issued based on the availability of the time slot within the centre. Other centre will not accept the appointments issued for a different centre.

So, its just a matter of luck that one centre may entertain the appointment from different centre or may refuse it. The best bet in this case would be to go the different centre earlier than the scheduled date. In case they refuse to entertain you then you can go to the listed centre on the scheduled date (just a suggetion).

Please use this information at your own risk, I'm not a lawyer or immigration specialist.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. But the date given doesnt mean u must go on that date. You can go anytime after that date as well as long as it is before XX date (written on the paper)

When we received our First FP notice, I was 1200 Miles away from my hometown. I went to the local ASC before the scheduled date and was able to get it done.

You can do it in a different center -- as someone said, whether they'll accept you depends on the crowd that day.

I would think that around mid-day on a weekday wouldn't be so crowded - again it depends on your local ASC.
