I gave my last BIO -CODE 2 on 08/04/2005.

I received notice today, that I have to give Biometric CODE 1 on 4/7/2006. BUT, unlike last 2 times, I was not given any option to go later, in case if I couldn't make it on 4/7/2006. It says I HAVE TO GO AND GIVE BIO ON the above date OTHERWISE THE APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONED. Its weired since earlier I was given option to go on any following wednesday, in case I cannot go on the appointment date.

BTW, I haven't received any notice for my wife yet, if I get, then I am in SOUP... since she's out of contry right now

Any similar cases???
 
goto local INS

I heard, you can go to local ins center and request them to postphone. There is no other way to reschedule it, because nothing provided in the FP notice.
 
Same thing.

I got my last code 1 sometime in August/September 2005 along with my wife. This time it is only for me. The notice date is 03/24/2006 and I need to appear on 04/07/2006 with no rescheduling clause.

Wierd.

I gave my Code 1 as well for the second time a week ago. No change in LUD called up FBI and found out that results were sent back in about 2.5 minutes the same day!
All fingers printed atleast 3 times see details below, photos taken
In any case...long story short, its back to waiting game...

FP Notice not received for spouse

Received one for me but not for spouse.
Very much worried.
What to do?
 
Shall I give up

I'm currently outside of the country. Just got this notice and schduled date is 4/11 only for me. Went there last Aug for my spouse and me. Haven't seen the notice yet, if it can't be rescheduled, shall i give it up?

I am pretty much in the same situation as you. Me and my wife are going to India next weekend. I got a biometrics notice but my wife did not. I called USCIS and talked to a officer, and basically she said you can call them (as soon as you are back from vacation) and have the appointment re-scheduled.
The number to call: 1-800-375-5283, Option 1, Option 2, option 3,explain the situation and request to postpone the appointment. (even if you are past the appointment date)

not able to give fingerprints

I am also in the same boat. I didn't get any fingerprint notices (for me and my wife). But, my lawyer got the notice and he forwarded to me. By the time I got the papers date is over. I got the fingerprint date 04/07/06 and It says I HAVE TO GO AND GIVE BIO ON the above date OTHERWISE THE APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED ABANDONED. But, my fingerprint date 04/07 is over. Can anybody suggest, what do I need to do?

All of a sudden there is a deluge of fingerprint notices for NSC folks. i got one too on 2nd April for 7th (short notice).
If you have got notice late or cant make it, call the number mentioned in the notice (See krishnaraji's post) above. They will reschedule it.

I think this has something to do with following NSC related news

04/10/2006: USCIS Initiates Preadjudication of I-485 Applications During the Period of Retrogression

* The USCIS/Nebraska Service Center has annnounced that it has launched the procedure of adjudication of I-485 applications even during the period of visa number retrogression. The intention of this "preadjudication" initiative is to prepare eligible cases to the greatest extent possible, short of approval, in anticipation of the availability of a visa.
* More important than this preadjudication notice is that the Service Centers may issue RFEs or Biometric notices while they process the cases on preadjudication initiative, and if the applicant fails to timely respond or comply with other notices or requests, the applications may be denied. The I-485 waiters should watch closely their mails religiously from now on in order not to experience a deadly consequence for failure to respond. |"The unconfirmed sources also indicates that the USCIS field offices are currently under operation to achieve the goal of 6 months adjudication of benefit applications. The preadjudication initiative may have something to do with such move.
 
Today, I called the 1800 nuber and they told me to send a letter to the corresponding Application support center for rescheduling. They are not re-scheduling through phone. today I send the letter to ASC and need to see what will happen.
 
If you have to mail out, make sure that its certified mail or fedex or any such thing that proves delivery of mail.
 
Same here my spouse (primary applicant)got the notice for 04/26 but i did not .Timming is 12:00PM but this time its the different ASC as we usually go for our biometrics or finger printing

BTW, my biometric was done on 4/7/06 as scheduled. But the LUD did't change as it did in my last 2 bios.

Any clues?
 
for me too...LUD did not changed after most recent Bio 1..
