Biometric appointment after physical green card

Hi,
My case is local office transfer and did biometrics couple of times already (because they somehow don't have track of things for local office transfer cases) before receiving the physical green card. I received the card two months before (Dec 05). But I received another appt for biometrics!! I called the customer service and they told that I received it in error and I don't have to go for the appt. Knowing USCIS, it is still a concern for me if I should go or not. I plan to travel to India in couple of weeks.

If anyone is in the same boat.. gurus, please give your opinion.

Thanks
Ceejay

Same happened with my little sisters... we got another set of biometric appointments after we received the GCs.... I asked my lawyer and he said... just in case to go and take the bios... It wont hurt at all... that way if something happens you have proof that you complied with all of their requests.

I see that the asylum case getting faster n faster to received greencard but is it true that Nebraska take longer than Texas?

Case transferred to local office AGAIN!!

It must be some screwed up system at USCIS.. I received my physical card.. Mine was a local office transfer and did biometrics many times.. As I mentioned before, I received another one after the card.. I went and explained the situation and they didn't take one for me. When I thought this is going to be over, I received mail notification for my 485 case that the case transferred to local office yet again [mine was transfer case]. I am traveling outside US next week.. I am really worried. What should I do??

Exactly!! Whether any one has the same/similiar issues? Any ideas if it is ok to travel or not?? I can't stop my plans at this time...

Wish they focus thier time on new applicants rather than keep re-working on your case.

Looks like I am not the only one….

Hi, Ceejay!
I’m in a same boat. My I-485 case was transferred couple of times. In January 2006, I finally got an interview and already received my GC. Now I got the biometrics appointment as well…. I know it’s a mistake on the INS part and I am not even gonna bother to call, or drive 2 ½ hrs to my ASC for FP I don’t even need.
Bottom line – you are the permanent resident now. Your application has been approved and you have your GC in your hands. It’s done. You are free to travel. Good luck!

I had exactly the same crap happened to me after i received my GC. I went just in case to get them done as it is not that far from where I live, but i agree with Jane Green
