I Had been trying to reach an IIO all day today. Finally got through at around 3:00pm. The woman told me that my case was approved on June 11th 2001. I asked how come the AVM didn\'t get updated, she said it has been "acting up" lately. I asked about my wife\'s case and she told me that that has been approved as well.
Will post more once I get the approval letter.
Number of calls to the IIO=2 (06/06/2001 and 06/14/2001)
AVM checking=every day(not very useful these days)
Now, there is one thing that INS *MUST* do, if they have any decency -- make the whole process as electronic as possible. So much time, money and mental energy will be saved if they do that. Yes, I know, paper documents are the only way to be sure of anything. But at least that way we can get case status infomation over the web. Know what RFEs are getting issued and full details of why. But that is the front end - custmer service - side. On the back end, the systems that the INS processors use, the same thing must happen.
Some advice to anyone coming down the same path.
- Don\'t start GC with a bad employer! I would\'ve gone literally insane had I started my GC with Mastech (my old employer). I see all these Rapidigm/IGate employees suffering and feel sorry for them.
- Keep good tabs on your lawyer to find what\'s going on, in case there are any snags.
- Don\'t make any long-term commitments (like mortgage, or big stock investments) before GC
All the best to all of you, and thank you.
