Big Improvement for FP in Alexandria, Virginia

I found there is a big improvement for Fingerprinting at Alexandria Virginia Area (8850 Richmond Highway). In April, there were long lines and lots of delays. People had to reschedule. Police was called to keep the order. I went there last Saturday-July 30. However, there is very few people and no line. I am really curious about what happened that caused such big improvement? Anyone knows?

Really...that's really good to know.

We had been there in Mid of April too, we had 9 AM appointment and once we are done with FP it was well past 1:30 PM !!

Tonight, I am going for my FP to Alexandria, Va. I will post my experience tomorrow.

They have given me the appointment at 7.00 pm. Are they really work at this later evening?

Less people doesn't equal "improvement". Maybe it is just that CIS delayed in sending out FP notice.

I have observed that in my Finger Print Notificatin letter it show "ESC" in "SERVICE CENTER" column.. I was thinking it should be ASC .. any comment friends..

I just checked the USCIS.gov site and they mentioned the timings as 8.00 AM to 4.00 PM (Mon - Sat) .. really strange..they send the appointment for 7:00 PM.. (its Alexandria,VA one)..

Yesterday i finshed my FP in Alexandria, VA. There was no crowd at all. Even though my appointment was at 7.00 pm, i tried to reach there early (Trafiic reasons) and i reached there around 6.15. As soon as we entered, we were asked to fill the forms and submit it. The moment we filled it and submitted it, we were called to take the finger printing and biometrics. One lady took FP of all fingers, Photo and Signature. it just took 5 mins. Mine was code 3.

So, dont worry about 7.00 pm appointment. I also had the same question when i received the FP notice. Good luck for your FP.. Mavi.

In my FP notice also, service center mentioned as "ESC". It is not either "VSC" or "ASC". What does "ESC" mean, any bode has idea please?

gc_4_us Nice to hear the news from you.. when you have a time could you please comment on my questions below..

1) did they check for your SSN .. (I have a name correction in my SSN and have not get the new one.. Original was taken by the SSN people).
---- No

2) did they check for spouse Visa validity.. (my wife's visa was expried on June 2005 in passport , we did applied for extension before that and I only have a copy of Receipt Notice.. my attorney has the original)
---- No

3) My wife has no Photo ID except the Passport.. is this oK ??
---- In the notice, they ask us to provide any one valid photo id. I gave them my Driver licence. I think, passort should be ok. They also asked my EAD card. So take your ead card with you if you have one.

4) and finally... at present I am at NJ and very next to my street there is NJ - Hackensack ASN office.. Since my appointment is 30th at VA I was thinking to give it a short at NJ ASN... do you think its ok..or will it have any side effects in GC next steps..

friends, please comment for valuable suggestion..

Good luck to everyone..

My experience at Alexandria

Let me share my experience at ASC - very good one

I had an appointment scheduled at 12:00 today (08/05/2005), I was in the Q for abt 2 - 3 mins,i gave her the appointment notice (the one received from USCIS). She asked for Pic ID, and Workpermit. I gave her only what she asked - for myself, and my wife,we both gave our DL's and EAD card. my wife didnot have DL, so we gave her Learner's permit. ( make sure that everything matches, name, address etc)

She didnot ask anything at alll.. she will give a form to fill, after filling form, you need to present to the person as she directs.

Everything was over by 12:20PM
