I am sorry I never heard of an A file. I checked with my lawyer as well and he thinks that it may be an internal VSC term. Could the IIO be BSing?? may be..

hey,
dont woryy about what IIO tells you. they have no idea what is going on with your case. i have been told that my case is in review for the last three months. it just makes no sense. to me they are only computer operators and the only person who knows about your case is the guy who has the case with him. so relax and take it easy. one way or the other life goes on.

I think \'A\' file is which is comming from FBI about finger prints,
we have \'A\' number on I485 receite too, means allien number. if you
give your \'A\' number to FBI, they tell about your finger prints,
that electronic file is transfered to INS, there after we get approved.
this is my assumption only.

As far as I know, the A file is the "Alien" file, which is the common term used by the INS to refer to files of I-485 applicants. And the A# is the Alien Number that is assigned to the individual who has applied for I-485....

I know for sure it has nothing to do with Finger prints, because I when I asked IIO she said they have received my FP and everything is fine and its with an officer and its going to take 2 weeks to make a decision. So I waited and called today and apprently the IIO said they are waiting for A File and she didn\'t tell me what it means too. I\'m totally confused now. I have no clue as what is happening with INS. I just pray that nothing unusual happens..........
