Scenario:

What will happen, if a proactive I140 amendment(succesor-of-interest) has been filed and in between the 485 application gets approved because INS was not aware of the name change (same company name in both 140 and 485 but changed after 485). Will it impact the 485 approval in any way???

When an I140 amendment is filed does it get attached with 485 or is it a seperate entity until approved then later we can tag it along with pending 485! Please clarify.

If you have already filed your i-485, it is customary to specify the A# at the time of filing proactive amended i-140. Every applicant has a unique A# and via the A#, the i-140 gets associated to the applicant\'s file.
