Between Interview date and oath letter

Is there a way to confirm the status of the application after a successful interview and waiting to receive the oath letter.

The interview went very well with the officer giving the N-652 form with "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval". Does it mean the N-400 application is really approved? If not, is there a way to confirm the status of application before receiving the decision (or oath letter) from USCIS?

It means your N400 is approved, but you are not approved until you complete the oath. That's why it said "recommended for approval." Congratulations! You will receive the oath letter soon. If you haven't received the oath letter in one week, you should call USCIS or set up the infopass appointment to ask.

Passport Card is for Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry. Passport book is for everywhere. Basically a pocket size convenience.

"OTHER THAN SIZE" there are no difference. therefore what is the point in applying for both?
 
Where I live (San Diego) , people commute between Tijuana, mexico and San Diego everyday. It is very convenient to just have a passport card to show to customs and border patrol, instead of carrying an actual passport book everyday with you. The card you could just have in your wallet along with your credit cards and license. Very convenient.

If you lose one, you have the other as a backup. So if you have to prove citizenship to get a job or some other purpose, you don't need to wait for the replacement passport to arrive if you had both and lost one.

And don't ignore the size difference. The smaller size is the main advantage of the passport card. But you can't use the passport card for air travel, so you would need both if you want to enjoy the convenience of the smaller size for land travel and also want to travel by air on other occasions.

If I lose my passport I might get stuck:eek:........but then I will remember I was issued a naturalization certificate, which is THE proof of US citizenship:D. And as far as convenience goes, "credit card size" PP is certainly cool but again it's use is limited to only a hanful of countries. I'd still need my regular PP for any other travel.

Personally, PP card would only make sense for me if I were say a truck or greyhound bus driver who had cross border routes. Even in this case I'd still consider getting an enhanced driver license if my travels were accross the northern border.:)

It has been more than a week since my interview, I called the 800 number, I was told to wait 90 days from the interview date to call about the oath letter.
