Best way to leave US?

I need some advice in how to leave USA with out problems I been ordered to leave the county many years ago but I stay til today. I really would like to leave the country but not sure if I just have to buy a ticket and just go to the airport. Would some one please advise me on this one I have not criminal records and I paid my taxes.

You don't need permission from the U.S. to leave.
