Would appreciate, if you could share, how N400 papers are put to gether for sending it to USCIS.. Did you use covering letter etc.

I saw recommended guild-lines.. in below link.. but not sure, what it means exactly 2 hole punching at the top.. Does it mean, uscis filing papers at the top side of the paper?

In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:
- Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.
- Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
- The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.
- Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.

Thanks,

Sounds good to me. Don't worry about the two hole punching at the top, let USCIS do it themselves as your punch may be offset differently from the punch used by USCIS causing unnecessary problems...
(and yes, the contents of the A-file are fastened at the top of the page - not along the left side as we usually create files)

Additionally:
- Do NOT send double sided copies. You may think you're saving trees but the IOs tend not to flip the pages over to look (another issue with having a top fastened file, the back of the page gets flipped over and away from view )
- Try sending color copies of certificates if possible (birth/marriage/gc/drivers license etc). They seem to invite lesser scrutiny during the interview.
- If a document has a seal/certification/stamp on the back side, make a copy of that as well (no double sided copies)
- If you're sending a cover letter, arrange the documents in the the order in which you list them in the cover letter. It'll make it easier for USCIS to reorder the application if they need to.
- If you know that any data is going to overflow the amount of space provided, e.g. too many addresses in the last 5 years, just put "See Attachhment" in the first line of the table in the N400 and list all your information on the additional sheet of paper (remember to put your name, A#, Section/Question number on each page as appropriate and sign each page)
