There is not a fixed "minimum" that you can show. Generally, if you were able to show over $10,000 per adult (and something for any children) then that would be enough and the affidavit of support would not be necessary. However, anything you have, that is less than that amount will strengthen your case when submitted alongside an affidavit of support. Your profession or experience, other assets, age and education will all then be factors in the COs decision (which is subjective) as to whether you might present a concern on "public charge" grounds.

Thanks Britsimon.

Still on the issue of bank statement. is it required for you to use some one's bank statement. Like your dad or your relative

I just replied to your PM on this matter.

However specifically with your Dad or a relative, the best thing would be for them to give you the money and have it in your bank account for some time (months ideally) before your interview.

If that isn't possible, then you might be able to show their statements and a sworn affidavit of support (not the I134 - that is for US residents). However, I think that could be considered as not reliable and would be a risky approach. If your Dad or relative is serious about giving you money for your new life (and that really is your plan) then they should be willing to give you the money now.

Regardless of the steps to pass the interview you must have a plan of how you will survive in the US. Going there with a starry eyed assumption that jobs and money will be easy to find is not realistic - and will most likely end with a sad story...
