I want to know how does premium processing help. I had filed my case under Schedule A category (Nurse & Physical Therapist). Now since the allocated 50,000 numbers are reaching their limit, I am checking my options. If I premium process my case, would I

1) get faster decision on I-140 and I-485 both -OR- just I-140
2) if the answer to question #1 is "JUST I-140", then would it matter when 50,000 limit is reached? would that affect my visa (assuming I have got I-140 approved through premium processing but I-485 is under processing when the limit is reached!)

I overall want to know how premium processing help and which application this 50,000 limit apply (I-140, I-1485 or both).

I apologize for my ignorance here. Everyone keeps talking about Premium Processing but i am sure a lot of people would be intersted in knowing the difference between "visa numbers" Vs. I-140 approval Vs..... etc.

Thanks,
CoG

In case of eventualities like getting laid off or loosing the job you can use AC-21 if I-485 is pending for six months. To Use AC-21, It is better to have I-140 approved because employer may of may not co-operate with you in case of RFE.
