Benefits of non-concurrent filing

Apart from AC21, is there any advantage in non-concurrent filing? In the current situation, is there any time benefit in non-concurrent i-140 applications? What is the current methodolgy USCIS adopting in non-concurrent petitons? I feel, almost all the applicants perfer to go via con-current method now. Then, what is the logic behind non-concurrent filings?

It used to be that they did a "prima facie" review when you applied 140+485. During this, if they didn't like, they could put a hold on EAD/AP till 140 got cleared. This probability is reduced with non concurrent filing. Not sure how things are now, internal procedures have changed quite a bit in the last year.
