Hi,
My wife is a US Citizen who has filed an I-130 for her mother.
Her mother's name entered in the I-130 is different from her name in her passport. In the I-130 it is entered as "FirstName LastName" whereas in her passport it is "OtherName FirstName LastName". However, the name used in her passport is mentioned in the I-130 under "Other Names Used". Once the I-130 gets approved, she will be applying for an immigrant visa at the Chennai Consulate in India.
Will this cause problems when she applies for the immigrant visa?
If this is going to be a problem, how should it be addressed? Do we need to file an amendment to the I-130 or can something be done after the I-130 is approved and sent to the National Visa Center?
Thank you.
