Before I-130 what do i need to know??

First off thanks to everyone for giving such a valuable information on this forum.

I am married to a lovely wife since 2.5yrs who is a US citizen, I've been pressurized by her many times to apply for GC as we do not want our child to educate in this part of world where we live + many other valid reasons....

since June 2008 we are living together in Dubai, U.A.E, my wife is a UAE resident like me on resident visa which I've given her meaning her visa says that i am her sponsor and she is a house wife.

I've gathered initial information and i'll have to go through "consular processing"

My Questions:

1. Where should my wife submit I-130 application? i know the USCIS website says here from UAE but do we have an option to apply from US for quick precessing? i assume it will take longer from UAE as eventually it will be processed in US ?

2. As we are living together in UAE, will it effect my application as in wouldnt they question why i want to move there when i have a settled life/business here?
honestly i have no intention to move to US other thing living there for few days to get GC and gambling in Vegas :)

3. Once if I-130 is approved petitioner will assign the agent, can my wife herself become an agent while sitting in Dubai? will it delay my case? or is it better for her dad to become the agent who is a USC working in US?

4. If my wife's dad give undertaking that he will bear the expense etc is that a problem?
I assume it is essential to have a sponsor, my wife cannot become as she is with me here and not working?

I'd really appreciate if you please help me with above questions and any additional information you think i should know before applying.
Thanks so much

1. You may apply directly for an immigrant visa or for a K (finance) visa. If you guys don't have a specific time limit on when you want to move to the States, apply for IR-1 (immigrant visa) instead of K visa.
2. No. It's freedom of choice. And i won't recommend gambling. Do some research about life in the states. It's NOT exactly what you see on TV.
3. I really don't quite understand your question. Do you mean petitioner? The petitioner can be anywhere in the world, not necessarily in the US.
4. Your father-in-law can be a co-sponsor. Read the instructions for the Affidavit of Support (i-864). You'll find a section pertaining to having a co-sponsor.

Thanks for your quick reply

1. Yes we are heading towards IR-1/CR-1 route and 1st step would be filing I-130 petition
2. So it doesn't matter if my wife file an application from Dubai, i am sorry but i am not getting clear answer anywhere... everywhere it says " USC filing application in US for spouse residing overseas" in our case we are based in UAE?
and F** YEAH i want to gamble :) i also know on TV US want to fight another war but in realty they cannot !! i mean i know it all my friend i have lived in the west for many years
3. So petitioner will post application to US or US consulate in Dubai?
4. I have not read I-864 guideline as yet but in short is it ok if my wife become co sponsor when she is not working/earning for last 3 years?

Thanks again
