Hi Everyone,

I have 3 questions:

1. How do I confirm that I am stuck on FBI Name Check? (via letter in the mail or email or status change online)

3. I applied for AP after my interview. Do I need another FP?

1. Well the fact that you were told at interview you were approved pending background check means you're stuck on the FBI namecheck. You'll know when the FBI namecheck is passed, because you'll get your Green Card.

2. This remains to be seen.

3. Don't believe so. BTW if your "current status" is H-1B, why do you need AP?

My company was just acquired rendering my 140, LC and H-1B invalid. My only other choice is to have the new firm reapply for H1B (they are willing). Even if I do that my 6 years will expire in July 2008. The AP (if and when I get it) will probably be valid for the same time period. Do you recommend that I ask to stay on H1B versus EAD/AP?
