BCIS Verfication for DL in MD ?

I took DMV (MD) appointment before two months to transfer my expiring out of state driver's license. I had all documents. Valid H1B VISA, Valid EAD (FP not available), residense proof. When attended document verification, I was not issued DL stating that ;"Needed verification from BCIS" and after they got it, DMV will call me. and until they get verification, DMV can not help to get MD Driver's License.

I am waiting for call from DMV.... Meanwhile, My out of state driver's license is expired and I could not drive any more. When contacted DMV manager, they advised to go back to previous state for a renewal since MD they can not issue temporary driver's license.

Is there any solution for BCIS verification. I was told that it may take 10 days to 60 days for DMV to get verification from BCIS. But we all know, it may some times take more than that. When called DMV for status, the operator questioned 'How can we know about BCIS verifcation?'

Is this anyway related to FP and name check? I completed FP recently too.

How can I drive and survive?

Any advises from experts ? Please help me.

Saiser,
The verification should not take more than 7 days. I have moved from CT to MD and they give me the license the same day after checking all the documents(I have taken the licensein Dec 2004). When I moved to CT(from NC) they did the same verification and it took only 3 days for them to get reply from INS.

Thanks for the information. On seeing your post, I am trying to contact DMV.
It seems they have only one inspector for documentation review, and they are not looking into status. I could speak once, but the operator could not look into the system for any update, instead, she tried to reiterate immediately that, they will not receive that fast. It is a kind of light approach to push me away from their busy schedule. We know these are evasive tactics and DMV people know lot more than.

Saiser,
I spoke with couple of my friends and for none of them it took more than 7 days. I think it's better to approach the DMV again. I wish you all the best.

Many thanks for the wish. I called and spoke to the Manager again. she is so rigid, rejecting and its frustating to speak with such rough (soft-toned yet) unhelping personalities. I understand they are busy but can not understand denial of responsibilty fromn their heart. She rejected to verify to see if they got any reply from BCIS. My sense is that they might have got it. But How can I put them to work on it. It is always frustrating at DMVs for me. She sounded that they will not work that fast on my case (Even if they received ???). I am helpless.

I am curious to know how you have presented documents at DMV. Did you show EAD card when asked? If so, do you have 'Finger printing not available' on the EAD Card?

If your GC is in process or if you are holding H1B, and in requirement of a DL, you need to take an appointment (Usually you may get a date after 2 or 3 months) for document review. On documentation review for the purpose of Driving License issue/transfer, The 'Pending verfication status' report that comes out of their system prevents the inspector to proceed further to work on your case. These home land security verifications are of recent. You might not have gone to DMV recently for the issue/transfer of driver's license (probably before FP stage). The case is different if you are already having a valid license years back. If any new/out-of-state persons who moved recently to MD, may go through this ordeal. And it may happen only to some cases. We need to find out.

Saiser,
Initially it took me 2 months to get the appointment with DMV,Federick. I have taken currenct CT drivers license,EAD and passport. They checked my EAD and got all information on the screen . They did the eye exam (they do it for eveyone transfering out of state license) and asked me to pay around $34 dollars for the license. When I was in CT they did send the papers to INS and got the reply back from them in 3 days. I think you should better go in person to the DMV office and explain the situation( I know you already did but nothing wrong in trying again). Hope this helps!!!!!

Thanks for nice suggestion. Going in person to DMV again is a positive idea. In their busy times, it may work and I am planning to go soon.

... each visit is a day long work. Need to take off and to go by cab as the DMV I got for the appointment is 30 miles away. It is pain anyway, better to be active on this instead of waiting for ever.....
