BCIS never sent FP to FBI

Here is a my timeline in San Francisco, CA:

PD: Feb 5, 03
FP: April 5,03
Then complete silence for a year.

Contacted my congressperson's office two weeks ago.

Called the FBI today - BCIS never sent my FP to them.

Called the 800 number and requested an immigration officer. She checked and confirmed that no record of FP. Promises that I will be scheduled soon (?) for another FP.

This is SO frustrating. Seems like the process starts all over again.

FP's are valid for 15 months I believe so I would ask them why you need to have another FP appointment - can't they just send the ones from April 2003? Or did they lose track of those completely?

I would talk to a good immigration lawyer to see if you can do anything to get the matter to move along faster since you have been waiting almost 12 months...

What Service Center/Location are you?

I filed at California Service Center. I was fingerprinted in Oakland, CA. My local district office is San Framcisco/Oakland. Do you have any suggestion for a good attorney?

Unfortunately, I'm all the way in NYC (and my lawyer is too)...

I would ask other people in the forum who are in your area...

Rahul,

Do you mean that the FBI finishes the FP check and send the results back in one day?

I am curious because I just received a letter instructing me to go for the second FP. (The first one was about a year ago.)

FP's are valid I believe for 15 months. Anyways,
almost all FP's are validated and sent back on the VERY SAME DAY.
