Hi,
This is my first time here. Can some one please tell me the meanings of RD(received date?), ND(notified date?), FP(finger print?), avm etc.? And what is EAD for? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
All the terms here are respect to Green Card (GC)
RD - Receipt Date
ND - Notice Date
FP - Finger Print Date
EAD - Employment Authorization Document
AVM - Automatic Voice Messaging System -- i guess...
RD - Receipt Date is the date INS received your application
ND - Notice Date is the date INS sent you an official notification of the receipt of your application
FP - Finger Printing verification by FBI has to happen b4 your I-485 case can be adjudicated
AVM - Automated Voice Message If you have your receipt number(located on the top left hand corner of your receipt) you can check the status of your case using the AVM
EAD - Employment Authorization Document is required for you to legally work in the US while your I-485 is pending. It is almost equivalent to your H1B and replaces it once your H1B expires. If you are using the EAD card for employment then any travel outside the US requires that you get Advance Parole(AP) from the INS to return to the US.
Oh, that is the convention? I don\'t know about that
My PD is 08/00 and My lawyer told me that my I-485 is filed on April 16th. I am still waiting for the notice from INS.
