Basic information I-140/485/EAD/AP

Currently I am waiting for labor approval. Mean time I would like to prepare/get necessary documents for the immigration petition. Appreciate somebody provide basic information in the following.

1. As a employee what documents/certificates I should have ready when we file 140/485/EAD/AP?

2.How long the AP is valid? Is it valid till I get GC? My H1-B visa may be valid 1.5 years after we file 140/485. In this case is it necessory to file AP?

3. Is it recommended to apply EAD when I am in H1B working for GC sponsoring employer? How long the EAD is valid? Is it valid till I get GC?. If I use EAD can I travel in H1-B visa with out applying AP?

4. When one should have medical done during this process?

Currently they are issuing APs that are valid for a year from issue date. Use AP as a backup. It is preferable to extend ur. H1 beyond 6 years since it is the best safety net you have in case ur. 140 or 485 is denied.

No, you may continue on H1 if working for same employer. Don't waste EAD fees money. EADs will be issed for 1.5 years from June 2004.

4. When one should have medical done during this process?

When ur. labor is approved and you are ready to file 485, ur. lawyer will tell you to get it done. Read on immihelp.com about the medicals meanwhile.
