Hi all,

I have done my F1 - H1b in April and while filing the attorney noted on the LCA that the employer was paying me 41,000

But i just figured that my base salary is 40,000. But my total compensation per annum is 45,000 (which includes the bonus+allowance and shows in my paycheck)

Now, I am thinking of going to Canada to get my Visa Stamped, will this discrepancy in the Base salary be a problem at the consulate or the consular officer just looks at the total compensation?..

PLEASE HELP ::confused:  I have to get my Visa stamped soon.

Thanks

difference of 1k is negligible and may not pose any problem.

they might ask you for w2 and current paystub. as you just started working this year you wont have w2 for the previous year. your paystub will almost show near to 41k. dont give or say anything unasked. just provide what they ask. you should be fine.

Hi Saigc

Thanks for the answer, I wanted to get my visa stamped in Canada because I want to travel to India..Its been 3yrs since I've been home.

Also When I applied for my F1 visa in chennai (yr 1999) i got rejected. I applied again in (2000) and I got my Visa, now in the Visa application form they ask if i've ever been rejected a visa. Do I need to say "yes" or "no" ???

Appreciate any kind of advice.

And once again thank you for your response.

you should say YES and provide details why it got rejected and how you got approved again later etc. there shouldnt be any problem if earlier visa is rejected provided the denial reason is NOT due to misreprentation or fraud or something related to inadmissiblity issues
