Hello,

Anyone filed in Baltimore?

I did more than 2 years ago. Had fingerprints taken and been interviewed shortly after. Still waiting for the oath. I keep calling and they keep saying that FBI has not returned background check...

Please share your stories.

Thank you,

AnxionsInMD, There are a number of cases that are in limbo because of FBI name check. There is a sticky thread on the US Citizenship main page that has great threads/posts regarding the name check nightmare and lawsuits. Visit these threads for the various options that are available to you.

Welcome to the Name Check BlackHole, that's what i am calling it. I have been in the same boat at Baltimore Office for 2 years. After finding this forum i was able to find out that there are things i can do. So far i have written letters, to my Congressman, Senator, Director of Baltimore Office, Laura Bush, N400 Department at Baltimore Office and sent in a FOIPA request to the FBI. I am right now as we speak about to dial the district court number to ask for the Pro Se Package because i am done, finished with writing letters, no more. I am taking action.

Ok, so finally after 3 years since my interview I got the Oat date. My problem now is that I have travelled for work in the last year and a half. 3 trips lasting 5 monhts each. I called USCIS before the trip and they said that it's ok to travel as long as it is not longer than 6 monts. Now I am freaking out because on the oath notice they ask you again if you traveled....

Any ideas/experiences/advice?

Thank you.

You are supposed to maintain all natz eligibility criteria right through until oath, which is why USCIS asks the travel questions on the oath appointment letter. There's not a lot you can do now except play the hand you've been dealt. You might want to be prepared with evidence that all your trips were intended to be temporary in nature, and that you maintained your US residence while absent. Hopefully you haven't been working abroad for a non-US company, as that might complicate matters further.

Over and Out!

I finally became a US citizen. Got my passport rush service in 2 hours by going downton DC.

All the best to the ones still waiting.

:) :) :)

Baltimore or VSC is really lagging behind

It seems that in the last month or so there has not been an IL update for the baltimore or VSC.

Any body has any idea what happened ? It was going very well in Q2 but...
