The officer called us in at about 8:45. We first took oath, then he verified our birthdates, addresses (mine, wife\'s and son\'s). he then asked some of the questions (yes/No) which is there on I-485 application.
Asked if I was still with the same employer - I handed him employment letter, and copies of pay stubs. He didn\'t even bother to look at them, just filed it.
Took our signatures, fingerprint and then stamped our passport.

He was very courteous. Whole process took about 10 minutes.

Whole experience made me wonder - if they are so efficient and professional, why does it take so long for the whole process !!

I guess they will accept it.

Coz, in first week of April I had gone to Baltimore INS to check the status of my case (I had not received the interview letter by that time).
They had scheduled the interview date and the information officer told me to come on the scheduled date even if I do not receive the letter by mail.

I am the one whose after-interview decision is still pending and who is passing sleepless nights. The lady (my interviewer) questioned me for almost forty minutes and when I was thinking she was ready to stamp my passport, she said "I will talk to my supervisor and let you know our decision." My lawer has told me that she (the officer) was new in the job. Can you tell me a little more about your interview? Why do you think your application - like mine - was transferred to Baltimore. Can you think of any reason?

I think VSC just did a bulk transfer of cases to Baltimore. Three of my colleague\'s cases also got transferred.
I am sure you will hear from them very soon - either they will ask for additional documentation or they will send the approval notice.

Re my interview - there was nothing more, though one thing for sure, the officer had already reviewed my file in detail before calling us in.

Hang in there - things will be fine !!

But did you get your interview letter before your
actual interview? How many days before your actual
interview?

My case was also transferred to Baltimore last
April 27. Hopefully, in about 2-3 months we\'ll get
interviewed too and most of all approved!

Thanks and Goodluck!
