Backlogs:

The contractor has resolved the backlogs in the mailroom. The contractor is now concentrating on reducing backlogs in the File Room.

Attorneys should contact the CSC if they have not received a Notice of Action (I-797) within 60 days of mailing the response to the CSC. It is imperative that the blue coversheet accompanies the response to ensure that the response is routed in the appropriate manner

Fingerprint scheduling:

Under the current procedure, the applicant is scheduled for fingerprinting at the time the application is received and the fee is taken. All of the applications filed after 05/01/01 have been scheduled in the National Scheduler. The applications filed prior to 05/01/01 have also been scheduled utilizing our local fingerprint program. If the applicant filed for adjustment of status prior to 05/01/01 but has not received a fingerprint notice, please notify this office via fax at (949) 389-3055.

Fingerprinting: National Scheduler?

Thanks for posting such recent update.
But now question is that what is this
National Scheduler for scheduling Finger
printing? The above msg means that it is
now scheduled when the application is
accepted....evenif one hasn\'t got the FP
notice? Is there anyway to check that
to know when is your turn for FP?

The FP notice is generated by the FP scheduling system....

The new National FP scheduling went live on Sept 28, 2001. Prior to that it seems they were using a local system. My opinion on your other questions :
Your case is queued up in the scheduling system at the time of data entry. This only means that you will get your notice automatically when your turn comes. The scheduling system seems to have certain parameters based on Location, Workload per location and a controlled number of notices to be generated each time the system is fired up. The system also seems to get triggered periodically. Maybe they are trying to maintain a balance between workloads of the adjudication department and the ASC\'s that take your FP\'s. I know of no way where you can know when your notice will be generated.

Thanks DeeRod

Thanks for your answer.
  You seem to have an
insider view of obscure
INS procedures or else
having some kind of inside
contact. Cool to have you
in our Msg Board [:-)

file room !

in my view point...

file room is basically storage where all pending files are stored. awaiting responses from FBI, CIA , FP issuance notices , waiting for file transfer from other ins district office ,adjudications etc...
