Backlog Reduction Team: The President has pledged $500 million over the next four years to
support BCIS’ ongoing backlog reduction efforts. A team of experts is formulating a plan to
maximize resources while further streamlining the processes. Currently, there are 640,000
naturalization applications pending nationwide with an average processing time of 12 months.
BCIS is seeking to reduce the processing time to six months

Bad news, they are reducing time for NAturalization, which means longer time for
PR.

Well, it should have a cascading effect if they approve naturalization in 6 months then they can concentrate more on other cases.
