Just so you know you aren't alone when you think, "What about my immigration application...?"

Here are some recently released statistics regarding the numerous petitions pending at USCIS during the first quarter of FY 2004 (October - December, 2003).

1.266 million cases were received by USCIS in the three-month period. (Suprisingly, this was the lowest since the beginning of FY 2000.

Total immigration application pending cases reached 5,299,780!!

In December, 2003, the most receipts were for the following applications:

I-765, Employment Authorization: 117,412
I-130, Relative petitions: 56,599
I-485, Applications for Permanent Resident Adjustment: 46,757
I-90, Green Card renewals/replacements: 42,501

At the end of December, 2003, here are the types of applications that had the most cases pending:

I-130, Relative petitions: 1,943,476
I-485, Applications for Permanent Resident Adjustment: 1,242,783
I-90, Green Card renewals/replacements: 657,365
I-765, Employment Authorization: 344,771

Wow!

It's not a big deal, at all.

"At the end of December, 2003, here are the types of applications that had the most cases pending:

As Maybesoon posted, CIS claim they can handle 20,000 case per day, so
1,242,783/4=310,695 per center
310,695/20,000=15.5 days for I485 only
even give them 10 times slow, it only take about 155 business days, IF THEY REALLY WANT TO GET RID OF THE BACKLOG!!!

Do you think so!
:o

20,000 per day is ridiculous as if each one takes someone 5 minutes, that is 12/hour times 7 hours equals 84 per day per person. If each service center does 5,000, it would take about 60 people per day only doing I-485's, full-time.
