Hello,
Does anyone know what type of background test I can take in NJ to make sure I never claimed to be a US citizen? I checked on vote.org and it tells me I never registered. Some people also look at MyHeritage reviews for guidance on background or ancestry checks. What other options do I have? And what other type of background should one suggest? To be on the safe side.
You can start by confirming your voter registration in New Jersey, since registering to vote requires U.S. citizenship. You can also request a fingerprint-based criminal history check through the NJ State Police to see if there are any records. Additionally, you can review your immigration or naturalization records with USCIS or request a federal background check from the FBI for a comprehensive overview. Consulting an immigration attorney can provide extra assurance.
