Background Check

As my PD is current since last month and there was no update on my case so I went for an Infopass appointment today. The IO told me they requested a background check on 14th Dec.
My question is what is background check? I heard about FP and name check. I will appreciate if some one can elaborate. Thanks in advance.
 
Same here man but for me they said PD is still retrogressed and also I had infopass on 14 dec to. at detroit do.

My pd is 11 nov 2001.

By the way what is your I130 based on.

Same as name check...

Name check and background check I believe are used interchangibly. Your name is going to be checked by the FBi for any crimes or if you were ever a subject of FBI investigation. :confused:

Once FBI clear your name, then an interview letter will be send to you, interviewed and hopefully approved. :cool: Have you had your Finger Printing done? :cool: In most cases, those name check are cleared within 48 hours, but USCIS tend to relax and waste people's time... :rolleyes:
 
Hi Al!

I already had my interview on Sept 12th (FP was done in july) but at that time my PD was not current but it is current since last month.
