Not sure. Someone had mentioned that they do a check of your parents' names and birthplaces, I assume to ensure that your foreign identity holds water. A normal background check in the US of a US person or any resident would consist of a criminal history check, memberships to questionable organizations etc...

No. Plus anything else they want wrt your family, date of birth, country, job, history and all.................

The whole security check is more than name check and fp, it also includes IBIS check.

However, FBI name check is the only check that CIS need from outside agency. and they will not proceed until they have the feedback from FBI name check. (fp check is typically very smooth, not a big deal)

IBIS check is done by CIS internally and it takes minutes to do it. Once your file is adjudacation ready (fp and name check cleared) and it's time for them to process your case, they will run IBIS on your case and make adjudacation.


in short, if your fp and name check is cleared, CIS consider your case adjudacation-ready.

How do I know the FP and name check has been done? I couldn't find the indication from the online status .
