Background check - what next?

My N400 application is pending since last 2 years. My interview was completed in September 2005 and since then I have contacted senators and FBI office.

Finally I hired an immigration attorney in Wisconsin to expadite the process in May 2007. Last week my attorney has informed me that my background check is completed.

Does any one know how long do I have to wait for my oath letter? Are there any more hurdles to be faced?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Nobody knows, even USCIS, I bet. Give it 2-3 weeks for an oath letter to arrive. Otherwise ask your attorney to prepare to sue USCIS. Mere receiving a letter with a threat of a lawsuit will make USCIS to move a bit faster.

I'll be totally pi..d if I hire lawyer but my name check will be resolved by itself before he filed. As for your story I think it worth to make infopass to your local USCIS.

Today i have received a letter from USCIS for 2nd F.P
Is this standard procedure? My background check is cleared and i still need to go for 2nd finger printing?
Will they ask me to come for 2nd interview? If so what do they ask in the 2nd interview?

You are almost done. My case has been pending since March of 2005. After writing so many letters. My name check cleared on June 27th of this year and my background check cleared on Sept 20th. I took a second set of fingerprints on Sept 19th. I am just waiting for a decision on my case at this point. HOwever, if they are not done by December i am suing cause i cannot afford to until then. Good Luck to You.

What state are you in?

Just got a second FP notice

I just received a second FP notice for end of October. I hope its the end of the process. I will post more once I get a chance to verify if my name check is indeed complete. Based on other posts, seems like it's a very positive development to receive a second fingerprint notice.

Earlier they used to set interview first and then background check... not that rule has been changed. 2nd FP coz FP is good for only 15 months. I think they are trying to fix their mess now... not so sure about FBI though. Don't see any changes in Citizenship Name Check.
