I am planning to go to Toronto for H4 visa stamp and am worried about background check. My last visa is F1 in 12/1998. I was a full time student in Physics, and after graduation, had worked for an University for two years in H1 status. It was a research position and was also in Physics. But now I am in the H4 status for almost a year.
I have been avoiding travel because many colleagues (Chinese, Russian, etc) in my field of study suffered background checks when applying visas. But now I am in the H4 status and I am going for visa along with my husband, who already has several H1 stamps. Do you think I have a better chance getting visa? Do they scrutinize H4 applicants?
