Background check questions for n400 applied after 5 yr with green card

it does not sound that you did anything wrong,
if you did not make any money before your labor certification was approved, and you just registered with that real estate company,
i think you should be fine in regards to citizenship,
good luck

I've applied for citizenship and already received my fingerprint appointment. I obtained my green card through wife on h1-b, i had h-4 from 2001 and both received labor cert approval on august 2004. Only issue i have, on h-4 visa i became a licensed real estate agent on october 2002 and registered as realtor with a company in 2003, although didn't work as such until my labor certification came through but fear this may come up during interview as i am presently employed by the same company, are my fears real or unwarranted? I have not commited any crimes and only have 2 speeding tickets which were under $500 and satisfied at court in 2005 and 2007.

I presume you meant "employment authorization"? Labor certification is a different aspect of obtaining an employment-based green card, and it doesn't grant you permission to work.

True, but I've read about H4's not being able to register or operate corporations, or perform any type of work, even for no compensation.

Taking classes and passing exams to obtain a license doesn't count as "work". Neither is being registered with a company without doing work for them or taking money from them. You weren't their employee, you would have only been an independent contractor who did nothing for them.

When on H4 you are allowed to study and own a corporation, as long as it the ownership is only as a passive investor and you are not actively involved in the business when in the US (when you're outside the US you can do as much work as you want for the business).

You need to forget about this and stop making an issue out of nothing.
