background check for I-485 approval

Hi,

I got my I-485 approved on 1st june, 2006 under EB1-OR and received my green card last in the mail week. However, my wife's I-485 (she was on my I-140 petition) has not been approved yet. The lawyer says her case is under background check. Do you know how long does it take for background check. When can I expect to get her I-485 approval? Thanks.

Also, can someone point me to the discussion forum for EAD and AP renewa. I have to do this for my wife soon.
