Hi, all!

My background check is taking almost 7 months now and counting. I am not sure what I can do at this point of time. Can you please share your ideas and timelines here, so I can better understand where I am and where I should go from here? Your comments will be highly appreciated. Here is my timeline:

June 1, 05 - sent N400 to USCIS TSC
June 22, 05 - NOA is received in the mail
June 28, 05 - received a notice for fingerprints appointment
July 23, 05 - fingerprints are taken
October 26, 05 - received a notice for Naturalization interview
February 9, 06 - Naturalization interview passed

Best regards to all and good luck.

Start by contacting your congressman and having them do an inquiry. This will atleast give you the date your name was sent for name check

Thanks, lotechguy, I will definately consider this.

Meanwhile, can somebody with a similar experience in Miami area post their timelines?

Best regards.

They checked box B: decision can not be made. Also, officer told me that background check did not come back yet and I should wait for 3-4 months. Time passed, I've got nothing from them, so now I am ready to take some action and be more proactive. Where are you from J7?

After Interview at LA California IO give me N-652 everything seems smoothly
But there are 2 X checks on N-652

1. X You passed the test of English and US history and goverment

2. X No futher action on your part is required at this time. Upon receipt of the below checked boxed, your application can be acted upon.

X Completion of background clearence from the FBI

It seems nothing related with USCIS ...

J7, it's a known problem that is related to both USCIS and FBI. I see only three options here:

1. Sit and wait
2. Nicely nag them with letters, calls, faxes, e-mails, etc.
3. Sue the bastards

It's up to you where you belong.
