Background and security checks pending

Just came to know from my lawyer that my 485 case is pending due to background and security checks (response was received for the inquiry filed by the lawyer). Are these 2 different? I have seen posts where people say security check pending but not both?

The inquiry was sent about 4-5 weeks back. I don't know whether they used fax or email.

Hi gc_eb2_conc,

My case is also similer to your case. My lawyer also sent inquiry for I485. Although haven't heard anything from INS but I'm gussing same reason as yours.
