B2 Visa to H1B Transfer issue while filing i-485, Please help.

On behalf of one of my friend.

I came here on B2 visa and my visa got converted into H1-B
After that I received Canadian Immigration and because of it I never
got my H1-B visa stamped on my passport.
Now I am applying for 485, which visa number should I use in
485 form.

Assuming that the only Visa your friend has is the (a)B2 visa, that is what you would have to give. However, the switch from B2 to H1B must have been recorded on the (b) I-94 Departure record as also INS must have sent 2 notices, (c) stating that the switch from B2-H1 has been approved and the other (d) that the H1B petition has been approved. The 4 [ (a),(b),(c) & (d)] put together will document the legality of your friends entry and stay in the US.

As always Check with your attorney before you do anything.

Whatever the latest entry, that info should be entered. Did you go to Canada for Immigration stamping? Then when you re-enter did you get a stamping either in the Passport or I-94? Then you should enter that info. If you use the B1-H1 I-94 with out any fresh stampings, then you should use the B1-H1 I-94 info.
