My wife and I are considering moving to the UK for four years to take a job I may be offered there. I am a dual citizen of the US and UK, and she is from India. We are currently in the US and applying for a green card for her, but we would expect to withdraw that application if we go to the UK, since we'd be out of the country for so long.
So the question is, is there anyway that we (she) could make brief visits back to the US while we are on this overseas stint? More specifically, if she applies for a tourist visa (B2) from the UK, are they likely to reject it, since she is married to a U.S. citizen? Or would we be able to convince the visa officers that our ties to the UK are strong enough, since I'm a dual citizen, and we would have a home (probably rented), bank accounts and long-term jobs there?
Any information on this question would be appreciated, especially if it is specific to the U.S. Embassy in London!
In case it is useful information, I have lived in the US all my life, and she has lived here as a student for the last 7 years. She has previously visited the US for brief periods on business, and studied and worked in the UK for a few years too. She has never overstayed a visa.
Thanks!
