My mother-in-law came to USA via JFK. She was given 3 months in her I-94. We would like her to stay longer, considering the extension takes about 90 days (read from other postings in this board), when should we start applying for her visa extension. If we apply few days from now (she just arrived), will it look like we have pre-planned to extend her stay. If we apply one month later, would that be too late? Those who have applied under similar situation, please advise.
Second thing: I am thinking of stating she has not visited all the wonderful places in this country in this short stay and also has not spent enough time with us, so would like to stay longer to visit more places and spend some time with us as reason. Would that be a good reason for extension?
Third: can one apply for two extensions during one visit? i.e., we would like her to stay another 6 months (a total of 9 months or so). If in our extension application they again give 3 months instead of 6 months, can we apply again for another extension or not.
Please advise.
