B2 visa application - help

Hi, i recently applied for a B2 visa and was denied because I didn't provide enough any suppporting documents as proof that I would return to my country (Australia). I want to go to the US to be with my boyfriend who is a US citizen. Unfortunately, I mentioned this fact in my interview at the consulate and I think this didn't help my case. I have enough evidence to show that I intend to return to Australia after 6 months.

Because my visa was denied, I also became ineligible to travel under the visa waiver program (90 days without a visa for australians). Has anyone had similar experience?

I don't know if I should reapply now for the same visa type with all the supporting documentation, wait for a while and then reapply, or try and get my eligibility for the visa waiver program reinstated. Should I apply for a shorter time frame (eg, 3 months instead of 6) I don't know if the fact that I mentioned my boyfriend is going to affect my chances of getting a visa or not.
Can anyone help? Does anyone know of someone who can help with my application / next steps?
thanks

Reapply ?

Hi karen,

Not sure of how the VWP works after a visa has been denied once. Suggest you do some research on the internet. Here is one link that might help:

Was your boyfriend sponsoring you ? Or have you mentioned it on your previous DS156 ? I would suggest reapply with all documentation...

there is nothing wrong with telling the truth...so dont worry too much of whats already happened...just get all the documents together and reapply. Check the VWP program first, ofcourse...if you can travel under that, it might be easier, though short.
