hi all,
my mom got b2 visa valid for 2yrs / multiple entries about a 20 months ago.
here visa expries on feb 2006...
i have a question, can she visit the usa in mid december 2005 and stay for 20 days ... leave the usa early january 2006... before her visa expires...

in other words... can she enter the usa although her visa is valid for only like 45 days?
i couldnt find nothing on the state dept website.. is there is such a rule that states that ur visa need to be valid for xxxx amount of time before u enter the usa?

Regards

Your mom will get 6 months on her I-94 as long as her passport is valid for 6 months or more. They may ask why did she apply for a visa 20 months ago and just using it now. She will be fine.

Visa stamp dates are the window between which entry is allowed in USA. It has nothing to do with how long your mom will be allowed to satay in US. That will be determined at Port of entry.

In plain english. she can enter any day till the date of stamp expiry.

She will be able to stay till the stamp on her I-94 issued at the time of entry.
