B2 to L4 for mother (dependancy ?)

Hi Folks !

My mother is visiting me on a B1/B2 for 6 months. her VISA expires on oct 5th, I-94 expires on Oct 25th. I was planning to apply for an extension of her I-94 by 3 more months, when I stumbled upon this possibility. Since my father passed away recently (Feb 2004), can I change her status to an L4 ? (I currently possess an L1 Visa)..If possible, how do I prove her dependancy ? As a matter of fact, she is very dependant on me for emotional and financial support.

Please help me out here !

I am sorry, but for USCIS purposes only spouse and children are recognised as dependants, however much the parents may depend on us, they are not recognised.

Tis the american culture I guess, only once u get citizenship can u sponsor parents for GC.
