B2 to F1. Please advise!

Hi! I will be leaving USA shortly and plan to come back in Dec. Right now I have B2 visa but I want to come back and join a college here. There are few things I want to know.

1. Should I tell the INS officer that i am entering as prospective student?
2. Should I tell him that I am already admitted to a college and I have I-20?
3. Or should I tell him that I want to visit some colleges, meet with the faculty and then apply for admission and later for change of status
4. Will my past I-94 record matter? During one of my previous visits I stayed almost 6 months but never been out of status.
5. I have been in and out of USA 4 times.

Please comment and advise!

U should NOT tell, it is because you don't have the student visia. If you say u are student, you have to show ur I-20 with Stamp.

Or u can hold ur I-20 and go back to ur country to get the visia, otherwise, change ur status in US

P.S changed status not visia. If u leave US after changing ur status, u need the visia to reentry.

You should tell the truth.

If you are not yet admitted, you must state that you intend to do a COS to F1 at the time you enter. If you have already been in the US for 6 months this year, you are not likely to get another 6 month entry. You should plan to enter in Dec on F1. You should have visited, etc on your current visit.
