B2 rejected - what do I do

I applied for a B2 visa recently. I had overstayed on a previous visit on a visa waiver as I qualified for one, so I tried for a B2 visa since I couldn't travel on a visa waiver anymore. I overstayed by 8 days.
I was rejected under section 214b. I had to tick the question on the DS156 form that states you have stayed unlawfully.

Will it be a problem if next time I apply they see I have overstayed, will they even bother to look at my documents? Also do they pull up your old application when you apply again?

because since you have overstayed...and because you already applied for b2 visa and got rejected....I dont think so its easy to get you B2 visa again.

Since you are from a qualified Visa Waiver program country, you can come to Canada and travel legally to US by Road, when you are done, go back to canada and fly your home country.

How can I enter by land on the VWP if I have overstayed? Don't they use the same database to check? Won't I still have the same problems?

Can someone sum up how you can do that? I don't understand, I thought US-VISIT was implemented at the land ports of entry too? Don't I need to still aim for a B2 visa?
