I'm helping my friend's AOS(married to USC) and facing a problem. I need your help.
There is a question saying that "have you received public assistance in the United States from any source, including the US government or any State, county, city, or municipality(other than emergency medical treatment), or are you likely to receive public assistance in the future? Yes or N0.
Here is her story, she came to US back in 2004 and got pregnant without a plan. She went to public health clinic.(she didn't know that PHC is under state program because she had been here only few months and it says clinic so she thought clinic=regular hospital just like her country. They told her to fill out some form, they copied her passport and visa page and received a plastic card(She didn't have a SSN and still doesn't have it). Afterthat, they told her to go here and there, she got an abortion due to her health issue.
On Mar.25(it's been 5+yrs) she went to that clinic asked the clerk what kind of prgram she had before. They said it was a Family PACT.
I'm filling out her form because she doesn't have an internet access. Do I need to mark on NO because it's not under public charge category?(She NEVER intend to get a program'cause there isn't this kind of program back there therefore, never thought about getting it and won't get it future,either.)
Is there anyone who had similar experiences or familiar to this matter?
Could you please give me any advice? :help:
