My visitor visa has validity of 10 years however my I-94 is expiring in the next 30 days. I would like to apply for an extension for another 4-5 months if possible (I am visiting my daughter who is a US citizen). I read on several sites that an extension request must be made more than 45 days before I-94 expires. Is the 45 day a rule or a guideline? Would it be still possible for me to apply for an extension?
