B2 Extenstion and RFE issue

Friends, a tricky situation.

We had applied for B2 extention for my mother in 2003. There was an RFE which
we never received. She went back to India when the application was still
pending and we did not follow up with INS.
She has a multiple entry visa. Now we want her to visit US again. But the old extention application is still pending due to the RFE.
My question is:

1. Can she enter USA without any problem?
2. Do we need to do anything with the old extension application?

1. No problem.
2. The old extension application is cancelled upon departure from the uSA.

My Parents have applied for extension of stay in thier last visit and were denied. They left about two weeks after recieving the denial letter. This was in May '04. They have 10 year VISA. They came back on May 19 '05 through SFO and were granted 6 month stay. They were not asked about the previous stay.
