B2 Appointment Wait Times At Mumbai

Hello,

I am green-card holder in US sponsoring visitor visa for my mother.

I check the appointment wait times at US State Department website (http://travel.state.gov/visa/tempvisitors_wait.php) and it shows that for Mumbai consulate the visa wait time is 11 days only. However, I have been trying to get appointment online at VFS website (http://www.visa-services.com) but I can only get appointment about 60 days later (in end of January).

Is there something wrong? Are there ways to get a sooner appointment? 60 days is too long a wait and I would like my mother to visit sooner.

Hope somebody can clarify. Are any of you able to get earlier appointments now?

Not only in Mumbai.. In all other embassies also you have same problem. It is because people making appointment through the net seldom bother to cancel their appointments.

Out of 100 appointments made in embassy in a day, only 30-40 people turn up for appointment.

Unfortunately you cant apply to embassy directly and security at the gate will allows you only if you have appointment though net. (unless you have urgency)
